Of the Signs of Negligence: Being Unaware of Your Enemy

First Khutbah

Praise be to Allah, Who originated, and created everything. Nothing that  has happened or come into being escapes His knowledge. I praise Him for each and every step taken by day or by night. I bear witness that there is no deity worthy of worship except Allah alone Who has no partners. He has warned us about enemy plots. I also bear witness that our Prophet and leader, Muhammad t, who is unquestionably the most noble of all mankind, is the servant and Messenger of Allah. May Allah’s peace and blessings be upon him, his household, as well as his Companions – the lions of war. May Allah’s peace and blessings be upon Prophet Muhammad, as well as his household and Companions forever,

O’ Muslims! Fear Allah truly; for, by such means hardships are lifted and enemy plots against you are dispelled. “But if you remain patient and pious, not the least harm will their plot do to you.” [Ale-‘Imran: 120]

O’ Muslims! To be ignorant of your enemy is one of the most serious acts of negligence, to the point, where a person does not know the reality of the enemy’s affairs, or the magnitude of their acts of deception and evil plots. This includes any Muslim who does not strive to put a stop to the danger and evil their enemy presents, and perhaps they even come to rely on their enemy’s and their confidence in their enemy’s promises and are deluded by their slogans. How many slogans and banners have we seen, and how many cries have we heard calling for the death of the enemy of the Muslim world, while raising the banners of objection, confrontation, and resistance in the face of occupational aggressors.

Yet,  they are in fact false slogans misleading the average person, and winning over the emotions of the naive and the masses; slogans that are discredited by outright conspiracy, exposed collusion, and mutual allegiance.  History speaks, and history does not lie.

At the time when battles were going on between the Muslim World and its enemy, the carriers of those banners were protecting  the enemy’s backside, keeping  its secrets, and obeying its commands.

The enemy has never been able to invade Muslim lands in either the past or the present except with the support of those treasonous people, and as a result of their deception, conspiracy, and treachery. They concocted heinous plots against Islam and the Muslims, the likes of which history has never before recorded, and in recent history horrendous atrocities have been committed by their descendants like those that were committed by their predecessors, or even worse. Regarding this, Allah has spoken the truth – and whose words are more truthful than Allah’s?! – when He said, “Verily, you will find from amongst mankind the greatest in enmity to the Believers the Jews and those who are polytheists“[Al-Ma’idah:82]

Every person from the Muslim world who has held up the flag of Islamic military measures – justifiably or unjustifiably – has been killed or assassinated by the enemy; yet, whosoever has held up the banner of Islamic military measures from among the treasonous non-Muslims has received nothing but support and a safe haven from the enemies of the Muslim world, because the enemy knows that such people’s weapons are not meant to be used for fighting, confronting, or removing the enemy.

The treasonous non-Muslims only show outward hostility, while they conceal their allegiance to the enemy of the Muslims. No bloodthirsty murderer has ever invaded Muslim lands, killed their men, raped their women, destroyed their mosques and burnt their books, except that they have received the accolades, support, and aid of the enemies of Islam, which shows that they are the real enemy of the Muslim world and the faithful supporters of all its enemies.

They do not criticize the enemies of Islam except for a purpose that serves their interests, and not because they hold any allegiance to Islam and its followers. Their power is not extended to any part of the world except that by it they demolish the signs of the true religion and disseminate that which contradicts the religion of our Prophet and leader, Muhammad – may Allah exalt his mention and protect him from every harm-, and there is no clearer proof than this of their enmity to Allah’s religion.

Accordingly, Muslims must be as aware as possible and hasten to repel the eminent danger of the most evil creatures in protection of the true religion, the proper belief in Allah and his messengers, and the religion of Islam as brought forth by our Prophet and leader, Muhammad r and protect him from every harm. This is a duty that has been proscribed by Allah upon the entire Muslim world, as seen in His statement made in the Quran: “Fight against the Polytheists collectively, just as they fight against you collectively; and know that Allah is with the pious and the righteous.” [Al-Tawbah:36] Prophet Muhammad r also said, “Fight the polytheists with your tongues, lives, wealth and hands” (Narrated by Ahmed on the authority of Anas).

I say what you have heard, and I seek forgiveness, from Allah for myself, all of you and the rest of the Muslims, for every sin we have committed. Ask Allah (yourselves) for forgiveness; for He is the Most Forgiving to those who turn unto Him again and again in repentance.

Second Khutbah

Praise be to Allah, the only source of goodness and grace. I praise Him continuously. I bear witness that there is no deity worthy of worship except Allah alone, Who has no partners, the one who hears the person who calls out to Him, and is ever close to the one that supplicates to Him in hushed voice.  I also bear witness that our Prophet and leader, Muhammad, is His servant and messenger. May Allah’s peace and blessings be upon him, his household, and all those who follow the same path.

O’ Muslims, Allah mentions in the Holy Qur’an “O you who believe! Fear Allah as He should be feared and do pass away not except in a state of Islam.“ (Al-Imran:102).

O’ Muslims, the deluded tyrant, oppressive leader, along with his alliances is committing grave sins and perpetrating shameful acts and offenses in our beloved Syria. An enemy of Islam is not expected to fight another enemy of Islam for the sake of Muslims; even if they did so, it would be for interests that are, in essence, nothing but more hostile acts towards Islam.

O’ Muslims, do not desert your Muslim brothers and sisters in Syria!  Do not forsake your Muslim brothers and sisters in Syria! Do not abandon your Muslim brothers and sisters in Syria! Support, assist and provide them with what will enable them to break the backs of their enemy and put an end to their battle with them. Be aware, that the most shameful act is to desert them and to abandon aiding them; therefore, support them, and assist them! For, Allah has mentioned in the Qur’an: “…it may be that Allah will restrain the evil might of the disbelievers. And Allah is stronger in might and more severe in punishment.” (Alnisa’:84).

O’ Allah grant our people in Syria victory! O’ Allah make them achieve victory! O’ Allah, the Lord of all creation, render them triumphant over the perpetrators of these acts of inhumanity.

O’ Allah it is upon you to take revenge for us from the one who is killing our brothers and sisters in Syria!  O’ Allah crush him!  O’ Allah destroy him! O’ Allah Almighty, the most Powerful, the Lord of all creation bring him to an end! O’ Allah, the Almighty, the most Powerful destroy him and all those who aid or support him!

O’ Allah, the Lord of all creation, the Almighty, the Most Powerful, O’ Most Generous of the generous  destroy their thrones (i.e. sovereignties); defeat their armies; and grant the army of those who worship you alone (with no partners or associates) victory!

O, Allah, the Lord of all creation, destroy those Jews who have usurped the land of our brothers and sisters and the treacherous Zionists. O’ Allah it is upon you to defeat them; for, verily they cannot defeat You; O, Allah Lord of all creation grant our Muslim brothers and sisters in Palestine victory over those Jews who have usurped their land.

O, Allah, Lord of all creation, strengthen Islam and the Muslims! O, Allah, Lord of all creation, strengthen Islam and the Muslims; subdue disbelief and disbelievers; and destroy the enemies of Islam.

O, Allah, Lord of Creation, maintain the safety, welfare, strength and stability of the land of the Two Holy Mosques.

O, Allah, guide our ruler and leader (The Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques) to the deeds that You love and the ones You are pleased with; Lead Him down the path towards righteousness and piety; O, Allah, Lord of all creation, reward him with the best of rewards for his support of our brothers and sisters in Syria; O’ Allah, Lord of all creation, make him successful along with the Crown Prince, his brothers and his supporters in doing all that strengthens Islam and improves the conditions of the Muslims.

O, Allah exalt the mention of the Prophet Muhammad, the one chosen and preferred over others, and protect him from every harm, as well as,  his virtuous household, and his righteous Companions both those who immigrated to Al-Madinah with him, and those who supported the immigrants upon their arrival. O’ Allah, the most Powerful and the Forgiving, be pleased with us, as well you are with them, by your grace, generosity and kindness.
