First Khutbah:

Praise be to Allah. Praise be to Allah, Who has perfected the religion for us, completed His favour to us, made our Ummah (Muslim Nation) the best of all nations, and sent to us a Messenger from among us to recite to us His verses, purify us and teach us the Book (the Quran) and wisdom. I thank Him for His bountiful favours. I bear witness that there is no god but Allah alone, Who has no partners – a testimony that is the best protection for whoever holds fast to it – and I bear witness that our Prophet and master, Muhammad, is His servant and Messenger, whom He sent as a mercy to the worlds. May Allah confer His prayers on him, his household, and his Companions, to be a light for us in the face of darkness.

O Muslims, Fear Allah, for whoever fears Allah attains success and whoever is led by his own whims goes astray. “O you who believe! Fear Allah as He should be feared, and die not except in a state of Islam” [Surah Ale-Imran: 102].

O Muslims, honouring the Quran and the Sunnah is fundamental to the people of true faith: those who follow the Sunnah, protect and preserve the religion, have knowledge, follow the path of the righteous, and adhere to the traditions of the good predecessors; those whose law is the Quran, whose way is the Sunnah, and whose example is the Messenger of Allah (Salallahu Alayhi Wasallam). They teach true monotheism and creed, defend the Shari’a, undermine detestable innovations in the religion, and abhor mean partisanship. They do not depend on any person, party, or book in making allies or enmities other than the Quran and the Sunnah. The only example they obediently follow is the Messenger of Allah (Salallahu Alayhi Wasallam); they know about his traditions and honour his words. They believe in them, approve of them, accept them, submit to them, and never oppose them.

Imam Ash-Shafi’i (may Allah have mercy on him) said, “Anything that contradicts the orders of the Prophet (Salallahu Alayhi Wasallam) is null and void and should not be the basis for any argument or analogy; for Allah gives no excuse to anyone who opposes what the Prophet (Salallahu Alayhi Wasallam) said“. Umar ibn Abul-Aziz (may Allah have mercy on him) said, “No one should offer an opinion in a matter that has been decided by one of the sunnahs of the Messenger of Allah (Salallahu Alayhi Wasallam)“.

He who rejects the Sunnah is none but a misleader; he who opposes it is none but a helpless person; and he who challenges it is none but a wretched man. He who rejects the hadiths that are agreed to be authentic has deviated from the opinion of the people of the Sunnah; he has contradicted the consensus of the Jama’ah (the Muslim community) and the Ummah’s predecessors, and has fallen into misguidance, innovations, and mischief.

Imam Ahmad (may Allah have mercy on him) said, “Whoever rejects the hadiths of the Messenger of Allah (Salallahu Alayhi Wasallam) is on the verge of his destruction.” Abut-Tahir As-Silafi (may Allah have mercy on him) said, “Whoever rejects the authentic hadiths of the Messenger of Allah (Salallahu Alayhi Wasallam) and does not submit to them has gone astray and has been misguided. For the Prophet (Salallahu Alayhi Wasallam) did not speak out of his own desires.” Al-Barbahari (may Allah have mercy on him, said) “If you hear a man challenging or rejecting the Prophetic traditions [i.e. authentic hadiths], or seeking guidance beyond them, you can accuse him of not being a Muslim, and you should never have doubts that he is a follower of his own whims and an innovator.” Ibn Al-Wazeer (may Allah have mercy on him) said, “Disbelieving the hadiths of the Messenger of Allah (Salallahu Alayhi Wasallam), while knowing that they are truly his, is explicit disbelief.

O Muslims, People with blemished creed and corrupted faith reject and disbelieve the Sunnah if it is contrary to their diseased minds or loathsome views. Mu’adh ibn Mu’adh said, “I heard Amr ibn Ubaid* talking about the hadith of the truly inspired and trustworthy Messenger (Salallahu Alayhi Wasallam) on preordainment (Qadar). He said, “If I heard Al-A’mash say that, I would call him a liar. If I heard the Messenger of Allah (Salallahu Alayhi Wasallam) say that, I would reject him. If I heard Allah say that, I would say to Him, ‘This is not the covenant You have taken from us’.”

We seek refuge in Allah! We seek refuge in Allah! What horrible words! What despicable acts!

O Muslims, Those who invent lies about the master of all creatures r or dare to challenge his sayings should be deterred, suppressed, and prevented from committing such acts so that the Shari’ah and the Sunnah may be protected and so that the high status of the Prophet (Salallahu Alayhi Wasallam) may be preserved. Abu Mu’awiyah (may Allah have mercy on him) talked to Ar-Rasheed about the hadith starting “Adam and Musa argued . . .”. Then one man asked, “Where did they meet?” Ar-Rasheed got furious and said, “Bring me the sword and the leather mat [on which those sentenced to death were executed]. This is a heretic that challenges the hadith’”.  He did not set him free until he had shown true repentance.

O Muslims, When those who reject the Sunnah are faced with authentic hadiths, they resort to alternative ways such as proclaiming defamations, hinting at defects, alluding to objections and rejections, and giving false interpretations. Imam Al-Darimy (may Allah have mercy on him) said, “I was told that one of the followers of Al-Marissy asked their master, “How can we respond to them (Sunnah scholars) when they tell us of these well-authenticated narrative chains, such as ‘Abu Sufian narrated on the authority of Mansur, on the authority of Az-Zahry’, or ‘Az-Zahry narrated on the authority of Salim’, or ‘Ayub and ibn ‘Awn narrated on the authority of ibn Sireen’, or ‘Amr ibn Dinar narrated on the authority of Jabir that the Prophet r said . . .’ and similar narrative chains that guarantee the authenticity of the hadith?” Al-Marissy then said, “Do not reject these or you will be exposed, but find fault with them by using different interpretations. Thus you will have rejected them implicitly, as you cannot reject them explicitly”. This is the way of those who deny the Sunnah. Their ultimate aim is to flout its rulings and evade its orders.

So fear Allah, fellow Muslims! Submit to the sunnahs (Prophetic traditions) and do not deny them. Honour them and put them in high priority. Beware of the transgressors and heretics, the corrupt slanderers, the callers to sedition, the advocates of innovations, and the brigades of Iblees (Shaytan).

May Allah make us of those who respond to and follow the call of the infallible Prophet (Salallahu Alayhi Wasallam) and protect us from the evil of the people of misguidance, ingratitude, and innovation.

I have said what you have heard, and I ask forgiveness of Allah for myself, for you, and for all Muslims, for any sin we have committed. Ask Allah for forgiveness, for He is the Most Forgiving to those who often turn unto Him in repentance.

Second Khutbah

Praise be to Allah for His kindness to us; and all forms of gratitude are due to Him for the success he has blessed us with and for His graciousness. I bear witness that there is no god but Allah alone, Who has no partners, in glorification of His dignified position. I also bear witness that our master and our Prophet Muhammad is His servant and Messenger, the caller to what pleases Him. May Allah’s bountiful peace and blessings be upon him, his household, and his Companions.

O Muslims, Fear Allah, be watchful of Him, and obey Him: “O you who believe! Be afraid of Allah, and be with those who are true (in words and deeds)” [At-Tawbah: 119].

O Muslims, None is more hostile to the Sunnah and its followers than those who insist on lying, and accuse the Companions of the Messenger of Allah (Salallahu Alayhi Wasallam), the best people after the prophets (along with those who love and defend them and ask Allah to be pleased with them), of being disbelievers; those who consider it permissible to shed the blood of Muslims, sully their honour and plunder their money, on the basis of narrations and stories that they fabricated and falsely attributed to the master of all creation, Muhammad (Salallahu Alayhi Wasallam), and his virtuous household.

They have claimed to carry the banner of struggle and resistance against the occupation, while in fact they are none but the enemy’s instrument, weapon, soldiers and supporters. Those who attack the occupation by just yelling and barking, but attack Muslims by planes, tanks, fire, sieges, and weapons, cannot claim to be resisting occupation or defending Muslim land against invasion. On the contrary, they are the enemy’s weapon against Islam and Muslims.

The false leaders of the so-called resistance cannot change the well-recorded history or beautify the ugly face of a sect that regards as lawful the killing of children, women, and old men and the destruction of Muslims’ homes, mosques, and towns. The decision of the matter, before and after, is only with Allah:

. . . If Allah had willed, succeeding generations would not have fought against each other, but Allah does what He likes.” [Al-Baqara: 253].

But if it had been Allah’s Will, He Himself could certainly have punished them (without you). But (He lets you fight), in order to test you, some with others. But those who are killed in the Way of Allah, He will never let their deeds be lost. He will guide them and set right their state. And admit them to Paradise which He has made known to them.” [Muhammad: 4-6].

He who is killed in the cause of defending true monotheism is a blessed martyr, whereas he who is killed while supporting the people of polytheism, superstition, and defamation is a wretched outcast. “Verily, Allah will help those who help His (Cause). Truly, Allah is All-Strong, All-Mighty.” [Al-Hajj: 40].

Servants of Allah, Ask Allah to bestow His peace and blessings on Your Prophet Ahmad, the guide and the intercessor of all mankind, for whoever invokes Allah to bless him once, will be blessed for it by Allah ten times.

O Allah! Bestow Your prayers and blessings on our Prophet and master Muhammad, the bearer of glad tidings for Allah’s mercy and rewards and the warner against His complete power and punishment, and the intercessor whose intercession is accepted on the Day of Judgment.

O Allah! Send Your peace and prayers upon him, his virtuous household, his righteous Companions, and their Muslim contemporaries (At-Tabi’un) and all those who followed them, and be pleased with us by your generosity and kindness, O All-Mighty! O Most Forgiving!

O Allah! Grant victory to our people in Syria. O Allah! Grant victory to our people in Syria. O Allah! Grant victory to our people in Syria against the tyrannical aggressors, criminals, and murderers.

O Allah! Relieve the distress of the followers of the Sunnah. Relieve the distress of the followers of the Sunnah in Syria. O Allah! Have mercy on their children, youths, women, and old men. Have mercy on the sick, the wounded, and the captives among them.

We turn to You, call You, pray to You and implore You, O Allah! Relieve their distress and affliction, O Lord of the Worlds! Sooner, not later, O Most-Generous!

O Hearer of Supplications! Accept their dead as martyrs. O Allah! Strengthen the will of the monotheistic Mujahidun in Syria to face Your enemies, O Lord of the Worlds!

O Allah! Destroy the enemies of Islam. O Allah! Destroy the enemies of Islam, the enemies of the Sunnah, the enemies of the Companions. O Allah! Destroy their supporters, soldiers, weapons, despots, and helpers. O Allah! Fight them; for they stand as obstacles to following Your path, and they show hostility to Your Awliya’ (allies). O Allah! Send down Your punishment and wrath upon them, O God of the Truth! O Lord of the Worlds!

Grant our people in Palestine victory over the Jewish usurpers and treacherous Zionists, O Lord of the Worlds!

O Allah! Keep the land of the two Holy Shrines secure, stable, prosperous, and powerful. O Allah! Guide our Imam and ruler, the Custodian of the Two Holy Shrines, as well as the Crown Prince, to do what You love and accept, and lead them to righteousness and piety.

O Allah! Grant security and stability to all Muslim homelands, O Lord of the Worlds!

O Allah! Have mercy on our dead, cure our sick people, relieve the distress of our afflicted people, release our prisoners, and grant us victory over our enemies, O Lord of the Worlds!

O Allah! Answer our prayers and supplications and keep our call heard, You are our Protector, the Best Protector and the Best Helper!

The last of our call is “Praise be to Allah, Lord of the Worlds”.
