First Khutbah

All praise be to Allah. He returns to His servants the seasons of goodness. And He prepares for them that which cleanses the souls and raises the ranks. And He eases for them that which nears them to the Lord of mankind. So from them are those who draw near to their Lord and are therefore elevated. And from them are those who are disgraced and deviated, and others whose desires degrade them to the lowest of positions. I praise my lord – Exalted is He – and I thank Him, and I praise Him and seek His forgiveness. And I bear witness that there is no god but Allah alone. He has no partner. He recompenses greatly for a little and He forgives great sins. He removes grief from believers, and He covers the ugly (sins) and He portrays the beautiful (deeds). He is Far above a similarity, partner and an equal. “There is nothing like unto Him, and He is the All-Hearer, the All-Seer.” [Surah Shoora:11]. And I bear witness that Muhammad is His slave, messenger, a continuous bounty from his Lord and a guiding mercy to the creation. Successful is the one who is guided with his guidance and misguided is the one whose desires cause him to dislike him. May Allah send salutations on him (Muhammad) and on the family, companions and those who follow them in goodness until the Day of Judgement and may much peace be upon them.

Thereafter: So fear Allah – the Exalted – as He ought to be feared, “O you who have believed, fear Allah and speak words of appropriate justice. He will [then] amend for you your deeds and forgive you your sins. And whoever obeys Allah and His Messenger has certainly attained a great attainment.” [Surah Ahzaab: 70 – 71]

First Khutbah

Praise be to Allah! We praise Him, seek His assistance, and repent to Him. We seek refuge in Allah from our wrong doings and our sins. He whom Allah guides may never go astray and he who is deprived of Allah’s guidance may never be guided. I bear witness that there is no deity worth worshiping except Allah alone with no associate, and I bear witness that Muhammad is His Servant and Messenger. May Allah send his Mercy, Peace and Blessing upon him, his family and all his Companions.

Now then,  I urge you and myself to observe taqwa (fear) of Allah in private and in public. It is the provision of the journey, the essence of virtues, the birthplace of traits, the source of power, the ascendance of sublimity, and the composure of the heart in times of trials. “And be afraid of the Day when you shall be brought back to Allâh. Then every person shall be paid what he earned, and they shall not be dealt with unjustly.” [Surah al-Baqarah: 281]

First Khutbah

All praise be to Allah, the Lord of the worlds. O Allah with Your name do we begin, and with Your guidance we are guided, and in You O Helper, we seek guidance and help. We ask You to colour, with the light of truth, our eyes; and to make, towards Your pleasure, our journeying. We thank You for setting straight our footsteps earnestly on the religion, and (for) making our feet firm on the path of truth. And we send salutations and peace on our prophet Muhammad, the one who called to You with sure knowledge, and who depended on You (Allah), so You were his Protector and Helper, and on his family who followed his Sunnah, and his companions who explained his laws.

O Allah, O the Protector of the believers, protect us; and take us by our forelocks to the truth; and make for us in every disaster of sedition, a robe of serenity; and in every shock of hardship, and armour of patience; and in every gloom of doubt, knowledge of certainty; and in every calamity of anxiety, a shield of steadfastness; and in every spring of misguidance, a light of guidance; and with every urge of desires, a deterrent of piety; and in every display of doubt, a rule of proof, and in every ignorance of falsehood, abundant knowledge of truth and certainty.

I bear witness that there is no god but Allah alone. He has no partner. He is Unique in creating and judging. Whatever He wills occurs and what He does not will does not occur. Not an atom moves except with His Permission, and the creation are subdued under His Grip. There is no heart except that it is between two of His fingers, if He wishes he guides it and if He wishes He deviates it, for He is the One Who grants the souls of the believers their piety, and He is the One Who guides them and purifies them, and He shows the souls of the misguided their wickedness and He makes them miserable.

He guides Who He wishes through His Grace and Mercy, and He misguides Who He wishes through His Justice and Wisdom. This is His Grace and Bounties, and the Grace of the Generous cannot be thanked. And this is His Justice and Decree. He is not questioned about what He does, but they (servants) will be questioned.

And I bear witness that Muhammad is the servant of Allah and His messenger. He conveyed the message, fulfilled the trust and advised the Ummah. And he left us on clarity, like (the clarity of) the night from the day. No one is misguided from it except that he is destroyed. May Allah’s salutations, peace and blessings be upon him, and on his family, companions, those who follow them, and those who follow them in goodness until the Day of Judgement.

First Khutbah

Praise be to Allah! Praise be to Allah: Owner of creation, command, glory, and subdual. We praise and thank Him for this blessed month and for keeping us alive until we have reached its last ten days. We therefore praise Almighty Allah and thank Him. We also ask Him to forgive us and protect us from all sorts of evil. We pray Him to grant us more bounties and favours. I bear witness that there is no deity worthy of worship save Allah alone without associate. May His name be glorified and His pardon magnificent! I equally bear witness that our Master and Prophet Muhammad ﷺ is Allah’s Servant and Messenger, the one who was best in fast and i’tikāf and who was closest to his Lord. May Allah send His bountiful Salāt, Peace upon him, his family, his Companions and all those who have followed their footsteps till the Day of Judgement!

Now then, O people! Observe taǭwa, for it is the best garment to be worn and is our only hope when we depart this life:  “O you who believe! Fear Allâh as He should be feared. And die not except in a state of Islâm.[Surah Ale ‘Imran: 102]

Let it be known to you that you are doomed to appear before Allah on Doomsday. Then, you will be exposed to close scrutiny for all your deeds. You will be rewarded or penalised, depending on your own deeds. Whoever shows laxity or proclivity for mundane affairs will surely regret it on the Day of Judgement. Let it also be known to you that tombs are the site of utter desolation which only good deeds can dissipate and substitute by delightful company. The darkness of the grave can only be eliminated by taking advantage of propitious worship seasons (like Ramadan). Thus, beware the temptations of the herein and let not this life distract your attention from the hereafter.  Surely, he who competes for pursuing worldly desires will never move up the ladder of pious deeds.

First Khutbah

Praise be to Allah! Praise be to Allah, Who has privileged certain days and months over others and made Ramada the month of the greatest forms of worship and the source of the most generous rewards. I praise my Lord and thank Him. I repent to Him and ask for His forgiveness. He is the Merciful, the Pardoner, the Forgiver, the Generous, the Munificent, and the Grateful. I bear witness that there is no deity worthy of worship save Allah alone without associate; a testimony whereby I seek salvation on Resurrection Day. I equally bear witness that Muhammad ﷺ is Allah’s Servant and Messenger and the best creature ever. May Allah send His Salat and Peace onto him, his family, his Companions, and his Ummah as long as crescents are born in the sky and mid-month full moons come into view by night time.

Now then, fear Allah and hold fast to the non-severable bond of Islam. Hold yourselves accountable before the Day of Accountability and make your own šaĥîfa (Deed Record) clear of sins before it is tagged around your neck (on Doomsday), and also before your body organs and locations you once frequented in the herein serve as witnesses for what you perpetrated. There are certainly angel-scribes taking record of all your deeds, and Allah is the promptest in exacting His creatures’ accountability: And be afraid of the Day when you shall be brought back to Allâh. Then every person shall be paid what he earned, and they shall not be dealt with unjustly. [Surah al-Baqara: 281]

First Khutbah

Praise be to Allah Who decreed that final glory, supremacy and victory would be granted to His devout worshipers and loyal servants despite the sufferings and agonies which might be inflicted on them, and the recurrent predicaments which they might suffer. That supremacy would be assigned to His loyal servants, notwithstanding the successive predicaments and agonies to which they might fall victim. Allah promised to bestow on them double relief to face just a single ordeal and vowed that their gloomy nights would be followed by bright dawn as a token of forgiveness.

I bear witness that there is no deity worthy of worship except Allah, with no associate. He alone may deadlock or open up all affairs. commands the obstruction of whatever state affairs and to Him exclusively belongs resolution to every crisis. He makes days unfold in alternation among His creatures whose destinies fluctuate in a preordained direction. I also bear witness that Muhammad ﷺ is Allah’s Servant and Messenger, the most open-handed creature on earth and the noblest in spirit ‒may Allah’s Salat (Graces, Honours, and Mercy) be sent onto him, his family, and his Companions, who took maximum advantage of their Prophet’s teachings and spread the word of truth after his demise in order to propagate his message and open up new horizons for it in remote territories.

 First Khutbah

Verily all praise is due to Allah. We praise Him, seek His help and seek His forgiveness. And we seek protection in Allah from the evil of ourselves and the evil of our deeds. Whoever Allah guides, there is no misguidance for him. And whoever He misguides, there is no guidance for him. And I bear witness that there is no god but Allah alone. He has no partner. And I bear witness that Muhammad is His slave and messenger. May Allah’s salutations, peace and blessings be upon him, and upon his family, companions, those who succeed them and those who follow them in goodness until the day of Judgement.

Thereafter:  Verily the most truthful of speech is the Book of Allah, and the best guidance is the guidance of Muhammad – peace be upon him -, and the worst of affairs are the newly invented ones. And every newly invented affair is a bid’ah, and every bid’ah is a misguidance, and every misguided one is in Hellfire.

Behold verily the best advice after praise and greetings, is the advice of fearing Allah, the Great. “O you who believe! Keep your duty to Allah and fear Him, and speak (always) the truth. He will direct you to do righteous good deeds and will forgive you your sins. And whosoever obeys Allah and His Messenger (peace be upon him) he has indeed achieved a great achievement.” [Surah al Ahzaab: 70-71]

Surrender leadership to Allah, and prepare for the day of Returning, and be sincere to Allah in private and public; for how many a person (with) much clothes (is) naked of reward; mentioned on earth; unknown in the heaven.

O pilgrims on these plains! O you who have traveled from every direction and field, here is the watering place, so enjoy; and here is fresh water, so drink. Allah has honoured you by your accomplishment of a great day of the days of Islam; and a majestic event of the events of the Muslims, so you have completed your pilgrimage and fulfilled your prescribed duties. And surely Adam; Nooh; Ibraheem; Moosa; Eesa; many prophets; Muhammad, the noble prophet; his companions: Abu Bakr; ‘Umar; ‘Uthman; ‘Ali; the great companions; the leaders of the schools of thought and the pious Muslims have preceded you in these steep hills.

First Khutbah

All praise be to Allah. All praise be to Allah Who is glorified in His Loftiness, and Unified and Unique in His Lordship. For Him is Everlasting Eternity. And for Him alone is Honour. There is no god but Allah, everlasting and Ever-Existing, and He makes miserable and He makes happy. Glorified and Holy is He. The praise on Him cannot be counted, and there is no escape from Him except to Him, and there is no hoping for good except from Him. “And say:  ‘All the praises and thanks be to Allah, Who has not begotten a son, and Who has no partner in (His) Dominion, nor He is low to have a Wali. And magnify Him with all the magnificence, [Allahu-Akbar (Allah is the Most Great)].” [Surah Israa: 111]

Allah is the greatest. Allah is the greatest. Allah is the greatest. Allah is the greatest. Allah is the greatest. Allah is the greatest. Allah is the greatest. Allah is the greatest. Allah is the greatest. Allah is the greatest of the great, and praise be to Allah much, and glory be to Allah morning and evening. Allah is the greatest. Allah is the greatest. Allah is the greatest. There is no god but Allah. Allah is the greatest. Allah is the greatest and for Him is all praise.

Allah is the greatest the amount of (times) the Ihraam is donned at appointed times of the pilgrims. And Allah is the greatest the amount of pilgrims flowing in the valleys. And Allah is the greatest the weight of the water of the seas, and the amount of gushing of the waves. Allah is the greatest, a takbeer that brightens this king and that kingdom, and Allah is the greatest of the great, the possessor of Honour and Might. And Allah is the greatest, the Ever-Living Who never dies. Allah is the greatest the amount of blood flowed of sacrificial animals. And Allah is the greatest on the plains and in the ravines and in the districts.

Allah is the greatest. Allah is the greatest. Allah is the greatest. There is no god but Allah. Allah is the greatest. Allah is the greatest and for Him is all praise.

First Khutbah
All praise to Allah, Unique in His Lofty name, connected with the honourable, defending Kingship. He has no end and nothing is out of His reach. His Knowledge and Mercy encompass everything. And He completes for His servants widespread bounties. And He sends to them messengers from amongst themselves, the most precious of them, Arab and non-Arab. And much praise be to Allah as He gives much bounties. And I bear witness that there is no god but Allah alone. He has no partner. And I bear witness that Muhammad is Allah’s servant and messenger, the best of creation (in) intellect, knowledge and tolerance, and the purest of them (in) soul and understanding. His Lord purified his spirit and body and He distanced him from faults and blemishes. May Allah’s salutations, peace and blessings be on him and on his pure good family and his companions, the fortunate personalities, and those who follow them in goodness until the Day of Judgement.

Thereafter:
Then piety – O people – piety: Mandate it in private and public and prepare for what will save you on the day of presenting before Allah, for all of us are returning to Him. And there is nothing except reaching Delight, or the punishment of the Fire. And the one who is given the ability is the one who rescues his soul and prepares his tools for the great matter. May Allah recompense our broken hearts, and forgive our great sins, and guide us to what saves us from His punishment, and draw us near to His Mercy and His Door.

First Khutbah

All praise be to Allah. All praise be to Allah, the one whose commands change the conditions. He rotates the days, so how many a country was judged against, then was changed. And how many a group dominated and thought their domination was everlasting, then they slipped and passed away and its kingdom passed away. I praise my Lord – Glorified is He – and I praise him and thank him and I seek His repentance and forgiveness. And I bear witness that there is no god but Allah, The Great, The Exalted. He gives respite without neglect. And He is severe (in) insidiousness, Great in warning. And I bear witness that Muhammad is His servant and messenger, the noblest of messengers and the most complete of men. May Allah’s salutations, peace and blessings be on him and salutations on his companions and family.

Thereafter:

Verily the best of speech is the Book of Allah, and the best guidance is the guidance of Muhammad – peace be upon him – and the worst of affairs are the newly invented, and every newly invented thing is a bid’ah (innovation), and every innovation is a misguidance.
