First Khutbah

Praise be to Allah! We praise Him, seek His assistance, and repent to Him. We seek refuge in Allah from our wrong doings and our sins. He whom Allah guides may never go astray and he who is deprived of Allah’s guidance may never be guided. I bear witness that there is no deity worth worshiping except Allah alone with no associate, and I bear witness that Muhammad is His Servant and Messenger. May Allah send his Mercy, Peace and Blessing upon him, his family and all his Companions.

Now then,  I urge you and myself to observe taqwa (fear) of Allah in private and in public. It is the provision of the journey, the essence of virtues, the birthplace of traits, the source of power, the ascendance of sublimity, and the composure of the heart in times of trials. “And be afraid of the Day when you shall be brought back to Allâh. Then every person shall be paid what he earned, and they shall not be dealt with unjustly.” [Surah al-Baqarah: 281]

First Khutbah

Praise be to Allah, “Who sent down the criterion (of right and wrong, i.e. this Qur’an) to His slave that he may be a warner to the ‘Alamin (mankind and jinns). He to Whom belongs the dominion of the heavens and the earth, and Who has begotten no son and for Whom there is no partner in the dominion. He has created everything, and has measured it exactly according to its due measurements.” [Surah al-Furqan:1-2]

I praise my Lord and thank Him profusely. I bear witness that there is no god but Allah alone, Who has no partner. He has encompassed all things in mercy and knowledge. Verily, He is All-Knowing, All-Omnipotent. I also bear witness that our Prophet and master Muhammad is His servant and Messenger whom Allah has sent before the Hour comes as a witness, a bearer of glad tidings, and a warner; and as one who invites to Allah by His leave and as a lamp spreading light. O Allah! Confer bountiful peace and blessings upon Your servant and Messenger Muhammad, his household, and his Companions.

First Khutbah
Verily all praise is due to Allah. We praise Him, seek help from Him and seek His forgiveness, and we seek His protection from the evils of our selves and from the evils of our actions. Whoever Allah guides, then there is no misguidance for him, and whoever is misguided, then there is no guidance for him. And I bear witness that there is no god but Allah alone. He has no partner. And I bear witness that Muhammad is His servant and messenger. May Allah send salutations on him and on his family and his companions, and may much peace be upon them.

Thereafter: So fear Allah – servants of Allah – the true fear, for fearing Allah is the pillar of guidance and shunning it is the path of misery.

O Muslims: Allah created the humans and the jinn for His worship, so whoever obeys Him, He promises him Paradise. And whoever disobeys Him, He threatens him with a painful recompense. And reckoning by Him – Glorified is He – is by the weights of atoms. He – Glorified and Majestic – says: “And whosoever does evil equal to the weight of an atom (or a small ant), shall see it.” [Surah Zalzalah: 8]

First Khutbah

All praise be to Allah, a praise that is abundant, good and blessed. There is no deprived if He grants, and there is no granted if He deprives. His bounties cannot be encompassed and His boons cannot be counted, no matter how large or spacious the numbers may be. No one other than Him is praised during difficulties and worries. And there is no helper except Him when the warned against occurs. His knowledge encompasses the creation and His power extends to every difficulty. He saves His friends from the evil of the calamities, and He rescues His servants from hardships and crises. I praise Him – Exalted is He – and I thank Him, praise Him and seek His forgiveness. And I bear witness that there is no god but Him alone. He has no partner. He is Exalted, so He raises, and everything submits to His Greatness and is humbled. And I bear witness that Muhammad is His servant and messenger. He conveyed the message, fulfilled the trust, advised the Ummah and truly strove for the sake of Allah. May Allah send salutations on him and on his family, and his companions, the possessors of God-fearingness and piety and may much peace be upon them.

Thereafter:
The advice of Allah for the former and later generations is His fearing: “And verily, We have recommended to the people of the Scripture before you, and to you (O Muslims) that you (all) fear Allah, and keep your duty to Him.” [Surah Nisaa; 131]. Taqwah (piety) is fearing the Majestic, acting upon the revealed and preparing for the day of demising. “Verily, for the Pious, there will be a success; Gardens and grapeyards; And young full-breasted (mature) maidens of equal age; And a full cup (of wine). No Laghw (dirty, false, evil talk) shall they hear therein, nor lying; A reward from your Lord, an ample calculated gift (according to the best of their good deeds).” [Surah Naba; 31-36]
